What is the Opportunity?
The Manager, The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists is responsible for the school’s management and administration. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the role provides administrative support and is responsible for coordinating various school and student bookings and maintaining online platforms. The Manager is a primary collaborator with several internal departments. In addition to this, they ensure that all required communications are distributed and collected from students, parents, faculty,
and enquiries are responded to in a timely manner.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Manage front desk and Academy email; first point of contact for internal and external inquiries and updates.
Liaise with faculty and internal departments for weekly schedule and setup requirements.
Update content and assist faculty for online learning platform (Moodle).
Process and track contractor invoices and POS transactions.
Collect student information and work with internal departments to maintain Academy accounts and rosters, supporting safety processes.
Collect and maintain attendance records, notify students/families/faculty as needed, supporting safety processes.
Collect and track class marks; prepare and enter grades into the Student Information System.
Create event programs in coordination with faculty and staff.
Attend all Academy events, providing on-site support as needed.
Attend outreach engagements when staff facilitation is necessary.
Provide audition and jury support.
Maintain content for Taylor Academy sections of the website.
Assist in overall marketing plan for each year, including promotion, recruitment, outreach, and alumni engagement; collaborate on social media content.
Review and distribute all Academy concert recordings.
Maintain archival records and histories.
Hire musicians for internal concerts and events as needed.
Support staff and faculty in program delivery.
Perform other administrative duties, as required.
What We're Looking For
Completion of a post-secondary education in a related field with at least 3 years of administration experience preferably in an arts or academic setting, or an equivalent combination of education,
training and experience.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, effectively manages competing priorities and deadlines.
Reliable and consistent time management.
Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written) with internal and external stakeholders at all levels demonstrating tact and diplomacy at all times.
High degree of initiative and the ability to proactively solve problems.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Familiarity with databases.
$60,000 per annum
Additional Information
Office environment with school-aligned office hours (Tuesday-Saturday) with attendance at events outside of regular working hours. During the school year, the Academy team must be present on Fridays from12pm -9pm, and Saturdays from 8:30am - 4:30pm .
This role works on site throughout the school year, especially Fridays and Saturdays, with hybrid work arrangement available whereoperations and programmingpermit.
Extended periods of sitting and computer use.
Works with confidential issues and data including minors.
A valid Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (VSC) is a required condition of employment.
The role does not include direct reports.
