Our Client

Our client is a well-established, full-service defence litigation firm with a strong presence in Western Canada. The firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Vancouver office, with a primary focus on strata (condominium) law matters.

Responsibilities

- Represent strata corporations, insurers, and property management clients in a variety of disputes and advisory matters
- Handle litigation matters before the Civil Resolution Tribunal, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and other courts/tribunals
- Conduct negotiations, mediations, discoveries, and court appearances
- Advise clients on governance, bylaw enforcement, compliance, operational issues, and day-to-day strata matters
- Review bylaws, contracts, resolutions, opinions, and related legal documents
- Attend council meetings and annual general meetings as required
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships within the strata and property management industry




- Support business development and marketing initiatives within the practice group

Requirements

- Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
- Approximately 2-8 years of post-call experience
- Experience in civil litigation, real estate litigation, strata law, or related practice areas considered an asset
- Candidates without extensive strata experience are encouraged to apply if they have a demonstrated interest in developing expertise in this area
- Strong drafting, advocacy, and client service skills
- Ability to independently manage files while working collaboratively within a team environment

Additional details:

- Competitive compensation structure, including bonus opportunities
- Annual billable target of approximately 1,700 hours, including recognized business development/marketing hours
- Hybrid work arrangement with approximately three in-office days per week
