Hybrid, Part time (10 – 20 hours /week, possibly weekends)
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate Educational Assistant Instructor to teach and mentor adult learners. You will deliver curriculum that prepares students to support diverse learners in K-12 classrooms. The role includes facilitating learning in areas such as child development, behaviour management, observation and documentation, and educational technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction using synchronous and asynchronous instruction methods on inclusive education practices.
- Assess student performance through assignments and practical exams.
- Facilitate discussions on behavior management and instructional strategies.
- Support practicum placements by mentoring students in the field.
- Update course materials to reflect current educational standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree or diploma in Education, Child Youth Care, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years working as an EA or K-12 Teacher.
Experience delivering instruction in inclusive education, child development, or educational support programs is considered an asset.
- Skills: Strong understanding of neurodiversity, autism spectrum disorder, and IEPs.
- Tech-savvy: Experience with Learning Management Systems like Moodle or Canvas.
- Communication: Exceptional public speaking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
