Job Description & Summary
A career in our Property Valuation Practice, within Deals Valuation, will provide you with the opportunity to leverage specialist expertise in the real estate market. Progressing towards qualification as a surveyor or property valuer with an internationally recognized professional body such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI) designation is required.
As part of our team, you will be involved in real estate matters where we offer valuations for taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and other advisory services, and you will provide real‑estate related advice from an overall deals perspective. Our key services include real‑estate assurance support, business valuations with significant real‑estate components, purchase price allocations, financial modeling, and real‑estate appraisals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of and analysis of real‑estate market research across multiple asset classes in numerous markets across Canada.
- Support the preparation of initial drafts of reports, valuation analyses, memos, and pitches, using appropriate industry and business acumen.
- Support our real‑estate assurance function, reviewing valuation methodologies and assumptions to support financial statements for clients such as pension funds, REITs, real‑estate private equity, and developers.
- Interact with clients, advisors,
and stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate with internal teams across the PwC Valuations and Real Assets ecosystem, supporting corporate finance, restructuring, and value‑creation practices that have real‑estate scope.
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives.
- Ability to multitask on competing deadlines within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Broad real‑estate background, potentially with or leading to an AACI designation.
- Knowledge of highest‑and‑best‑use analysis, leasing strategy, facility management, or corporate real‑estate is favourable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analyses; experience with Argus is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint for pitches and presentations.
- Valid driver's licence, E&O; insurance, and membership in good standing with the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $58,400 – $97,500, based on skills, experience, qualifications, and work location. Eligible employees may also participate in variable incentive pay programs.
