Acting IT Systems Analyst Programmer
Job Description
PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates in more than 240 schools providing before school, lunch, and after school programs and 38full-day early learning and child care centres and sixEarlyON locations for children from 0 – 6 years.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Solutions, the Acting Systems Analyst / Programmer will implement information technology solutions to meet the organization’s business objectives. Develop specifications for complex system software applications, modify and maintain complex existing applications, design, code, test and implement hardware and software solutions.
The successful candidate will provide a full range of duties, including:
Provide specifications, development, modification and expansion of new and current programs through analysis and programming, including web-based applications, integrations, and database solutions, to meet the business requirements
Assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation and standards
Diagnosing, resolving, and documenting application software and hardware issues reported by users.
Coordinate IT projects
Design, develop, and maintain desktop and web-based applications using Microsoft .NET technologies (e.g., C#, Visual Basic, ASP.NET, Web API), including user interfaces, application logic, API integrations, and database interactions.
Evaluate and recommend IT solutions
Monitors and maintains database stability, optimization, performance, and data integrity within SQL Server environments.
Establish a regular backup schedule and monitor and log the activities
Establish and maintain the security access, rights and privileges to the company’s resources and information
Coordinate and assist with third-party maintenance for network hardware and software
Co-ordinate and conduct in-house developed application user training
Assist in data conversion, data migration, and system integration activities.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred
4 years related experience
Experience implementing and supporting packaged software solutions in integrated environments, including coordinating configuration, data flows, and dependencies with existing systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft 365, and business applications.
Advanced Experience using MS Access platforms and relational databases, including the support, maintenance,
and enhancement of custom in-house business applications built using the Microsoft Access platform
Experience implementing and supporting client-server and web-based business applications.
Experience with SSIS (Sql Server Integration Services), SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools), T-SQL development and troubleshooting; experience with Power BI and SSRS is a plus
Excellent analytical skills, judgment and project management ability is required
Capacity to articulate IT concepts to senior management and clients
Significant experience in systems analysis, application support, and programming.
Knowledge of software development life cycle, testing methodologies, and change management practices.
Experience writing business/functional requirements
Willingness to continuously update personal IT skill and knowledge

Target Salary Range (Based on experience and qualifications): $67 699 - $80 392
