Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer. Transportation/travel experience: International. Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Judgement. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Hardworking. Patience. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Employment terms options: To be determined.
