CEDA is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Backhoe Operator to join our operations team in an industrial mining environment in Fort McMurray, AB. This role is ideal for an experienced equipment operator who takes pride in working safely, maintaining equipment, and contributing to efficient site operations. Experience with hydraulic pumping equipment is an asset, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
Safely operate a rubber tire backhoe in an industrial mining environment
Operate a hydraulic pump attachment for dewatering and slurry pumping
Work in areas containing water, slurry, and bitumen
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
Monitor pumping operations to ensure safe and efficient performance
Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet operational requirements
Complete required equipment inspections and operational documentation
Follow all company and client health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
Qualifications
Previous experience operating a rubber tire backhoe or excavator is preferred
Mining, heavy construction, or oil sands experience is considered an asset
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work safely in changing weather and site conditions
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
Reliable, safety-oriented, and eager to learn
Previous experience with hydraulic pumping equipment is an asset but not required

Robust organization, prioritization, skills with a high attention to detail
Ability to work with limited supervision, in a team environment
You have the capacity to problem solve and thrive in high pressure situations
Ability to influence staff at various levels to promote loss prevention
