Administrative Assistant II
Location: Sarnia, ON
Type: 1-year contract (potential for extension)
Rate: $28/hour
About the Role
We are seeking an Administrative Assistant II to support multiple departments at a large industrial site in Sarnia. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating activities, managing documentation, and providing exceptional administrative support while working with a wide range of stakeholder groups. As an Administrative Assistant II, you will play a key role in supporting site operations by assisting various teams, including technical and maintenance groups. This is a busy, high-volume position involving administrative coordination, document management, supply ordering, and ongoing communication across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to multiple departments and teams
- Order office, operational, and site supplies through approved vendors and purchasing channels
- Update, maintain, and organize site procedures, records, and documentation
- Coordinate meetings, schedules, calendars, and administrative activities as required
- Prepare, edit, and format documents, reports, presentations, and correspondence
- Manage filing systems and records while ensuring document accuracy and compliance
- Support special projects involving data collection, reporting, and information management
- Respond to inquiries and provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with other administrative staff to support site-wide initiatives and activities
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of administrative experience in a similar office support role
- Office Administration diploma considered a strong asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong administrative coordination and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service experience and a qualified, approachable demeanor
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Experience supporting multiple stakeholders or departments is preferred
