Senior Manager - Software Strategy Group (SSG) Location: Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver | Employment type: Full-time | Seniority level: Mid-Senior level At EY Parthenon, the Software Strategy Group (SSG) sits within the Execution team and delivers Technology, Operations and Financial advice to corporate and private equity clients. SSG focuses on Product and Technology competency and provides investment and acquisition guidance to clients leveraging proprietary software for commercial advantage. Key Responsibilities Advise clients across software and tech-enabled services sectors, supporting strategy development and execution for transactions. Lead pre‑deal diligence, portfolio review and post‑deal value creation engagements across the M&A lifecycle. Conduct product and technology diligence, assessing product road map, software architecture, technical debt, R&D organization and development processes. Skills and Attributes for Success Lead engagement teams and manage successful execution of value‑creation engagements. Coach, mentor and develop team members while steering analysis approach and client discussions. Execute qualitative and quantitative reviews (R&D spend analysis, feature benchmarking, competitor studies) to support strategic recommendations. Conduct in‑depth stakeholder interviews and industry expert engagements.



Contribute to people initiatives: mentoring, recruiting, retaining and training staff. Desirable Knowledge and Experience Master’s or bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of software‑related experience (strategy consulting background a plus). Prior functional head experience (e.G., CTO, CPO, CIO) or deep product management, engineering or data science expertise. Experience leading technology due diligence or strategic value‑creation assignments (AI diligence a plus). Strong program and project management skills with proven delivery of complex programs.
