A well-established structural engineering consultancy in Vancouver is seeking a Junior / Intermediate Structural Design Engineer to join its growing team. This firm offers a collaborative, fast-paced technical setting with strong mentorship and exposure to a variety of building projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- ASc. or B.Eng. in Civil Engineering with a Structural major
- Registered as a P.Eng. or EIT with EGBC
- Structural design experience in concrete and wood
- Working knowledge of the BC Building Code
- Ability to accurately read and interpret drawing plans and construction documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare structural designs, calculations, and analysis in accordance with applicable codes and standards
- Develop engineering drawings and documents using computer-assisted design software
- Review drawings, reports, and construction documentation to support project planning and execution
- Conduct field reviews and structural site observations
- Review shop drawings, contractor requests, and RFIs
- Coordinate with internal team members and external project stakeholders
