The Opportunity
Highspring is seeking a Power BI & Microsoft Fabric Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale business intelligence and analytics solutions. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across multiple business domains to deliver high-quality reporting, semantic models, dashboards, and data solutions that drive informed decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI solutions.
- Build and optimize semantic models (datasets) for analytics and reporting.
- Create advanced dashboards and reports following UX and visualization best practices.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex DAX calculations and measures.
- Use M Query for data transformation and preparation.
- Design and maintain scalable dimensional data models using Kimball/star schema principles.
- Support multilingual reporting environments through metadata and data translations.
- Consume and leverage Microsoft Fabric components, including Lakehouse, SQL Endpoints, Dataflows, and Data Factory.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable analytics solutions.
- Ensure data governance, security, lifecycle management, and compliance standards are maintained.
- Perform data validation and analysis using SQL.
- Collaborate with development, analytics, and business teams to continuously improve reporting solutions.
- Stay current with emerging Power BI and Microsoft Fabric capabilities, performance optimization techniques, and industry best practices.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple business domains.
- Experience working in governed enterprise BI environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with modern analytics technologies.
- Experience with SAP data and business processes is considered an asset.

- Advanced Power BI development and administration.
- Semantic model (dataset) engineering.
- Advanced DAX development, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- M Query development for data transformation.
- Business intelligence, reporting, and dashboard development.
- Data modeling and semantic layer design.
- Advanced modeling techniques using Tabular Editor and DAX Studio.
- Power BI metadata and data translation management.
- Strong SQL skills for analysis and validation.
- Dimensional data modeling (Kimball / Star Schema).
- Power BI Service administration, including:
- Workspace management
- Security (RLS, CLS, Object-Level Security)
- Capacity optimization and monitoring
- Understanding of data governance, security, and solution lifecycle management.
- Experience with DevOps and GitHub version control practices.
