About the Role
Contributes to the effective and smooth operations of Student Services by providing clerical and administrative support to the general office, including staff. Acts as the primary resource and contact person with internal and external customers, stakeholders,
and partners; provides standard office and online communications support; maintains an inventory control for office equipment and supplies; maintains an inventory of office equipment and space; operates room booking calendar and schedules appointments with internal and external parties; processes daily mail; duplicates and reproduces a variety of materials; applies the correct codes from the Chart of Accounts for financial reporting on charges related to operations; data entry as delegate for staff travel and business expense claims into People Soft; creates and maintains accurate database records (e.g. personnel staff information); receives and records payments for lab printing services, business cards, and name badges; supplies, and promotional gifts; processes midterm and final examination documentation; and provides a range of secretarial and clerical support services for workshops, seminars, and special events.
Qualifications
High school graduation plus courses or training of moderate duration (one semester equivalent) in word processing, presentation, graphics, spreadsheet, and database applications; and training in office procedures. 2 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and graphics applications (e.g., MSWord, Excel, P-counter, Power Point, File Maker Pro, and Adobe) at an intermediate level.
Valuable knowledge of post-secondary programs, policies and procedures.
Good knowledge of standard office practices, methods and equipment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations with a high degree of accuracy.

This position is based fully in-person at the Burnaby campus. Due to the operational and on-site requirements of the role, hybrid or remote work arrangements are not available.
For external candidates, the starting salary is the first step of the salary range.
