As a Protective Services team member, we nurture positive relationships with all the patients, families, staff, and the community. We are looking for a flexible, well trained Protective Services Officer who can be deployed quickly to support areas experiencing high workload, staff shortages, or emergency situations. Responsibilities: These positions will play a crucial role in supporting staffing pressures across all five acute care sites within the Calgary Zone as well as our Community Clinics and SAFPC location. As a multi-site position, successful candidates will be assigned to various sites based on operational needs.

As a Protective Services Officer II, you will provide security and protective services for all patients, visitors, staff and AHS property including: violence monitoring, prevention and intervention; enforcement of applicable federal,



provincial and municipal statutes; asset loss prevention and internal investigations; preparation of court documents and securing evidence; risk assessment and hazard identification; arrests, apprehensions and detentions of persons and first responder to critical events. You will provide support for facility departments on matters of security and safety practices, participates in reviewing and recommending policy, and fosters and maintains positive public relations through relationships with internal and external contacts.

High School diploma or equivalent. Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General. Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks program). Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence. Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed under 4:45 minute, within 6 months prior to commencing employment.

3+ years of security experience in an organization of similar complexity.
