Information Security Management provides assurance and security of HSS information through monitoring, consulting, advising and providing direct services to programs across the enterprise. The Lead Security Architect assists the organization by providing links between business goals and security controls and strategic input for appropriate investments. In addition, this position is responsible for the development of Security Standards that supports the organization’s security posture. The Lead plays the key role in the development and implementation of the Enterprise Security Architecture and Standards activities. This Lead position is an integral role in the overall security of information for the provincial Health Shared Services. It provides a strong link and co-work relationship to the IT Access, Network Security, End User Experience and Platform Infrastructure teams. Lead works with Governance, Risk and Compliance to provide inputs in compliance reporting.

The Lead, Security Architecture and Standards role is responsible for advancing and sustaining the organization's information security architecture and standards program. The position establishes and maintains structured security architecture processes that support technology investments, strengthen security controls, and enable measurement of the organization's overall security posture.



It provides strategic direction to ensure technology solutions align with enterprise security objectives and business priorities.

4-year Degree in Information Technology or equivalent education and experience in lieu. GIAC, CISSP or equivalent Information Security certification is preferred. Minimum 6 years of directly related experience (usually 10+ years depending on scope and complexity of experience).

Proven experience in large, complex organizations. SABSA, TOGAF or other IT architecture knowledge very desirable. Application to expert level knowledge of industry best practices with respect to security architecture. Disciplines in major accountability areas identified above, with positive practical knowledge of ISO 27001/27002, ISF IRAM 2, CIS Critical Security Controls v8.1 and COBIT. Applied management skills within either project (PMI) and/or operational (ITIL) disciplines. Knowledge and expertise in Vulnerability Management and its practices is highly desirable.
