As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4):

Demonstrates commitment to patient and family centered care. Ability to multitask and care for acutely ill and unstable patients. Critical thinking and ability to manage unpredictable situations. Recent acute care nursing experience of 1 year or greater within surgery, emergency, or critical care nursing. Hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation, physical assessments, and aseptic techniques. Certification in IV initiation, direct IV medication, CVC, PICC lines, blood glucose, procedural sedation and experience with GA. Must be a team player, adaptable and versatile and the ability to jump in and always help. Experience coordinating services for patient movement through sites and zones for procedures. Supporting patients from all socio-economic high-risk demographics with compassion and respect. Must be able to complete all components of the job including OHS/WHS requirements of push, pulling, bending, and >lifting 50lb & wear lead aprons (23lbs) for min 6.75 hours/day, Stand/walk for the majority of the shift, working all required shift patterns, cover after hour on call and administer/handle all medications including narcotics independently in an unsupervised environment

Previous DI, ICU, Emergency Department, Endoscopy experience is an asset.
