The salary range for this position is:
Recruitment range: $88,155 to $97,206. Starting salary is determined in accordance with the PEA Collective Agreement.
Performance range: Up to $114,671. Progression beyond the recruitment range is available through annual performance increases,



in accordance with the PEA Collective Agreement.

Job Summary

Mandate:
The Analyst/Statistician advances evidence based decision making across the university by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to enrolment, student success, academic programs, operations, and strategic initiatives. The role leverages modern analytics tools-including Power BI and emerging AI driven technologies-to transform complex information into actionable insights. This position supports institutional planning, accreditation, assessment, and compliance reporting while collaborating with academic and administrative units to strengthen the university's strategic capacity.

Objectives:
This position strengthens the university's ability to make informed, strategic decisions. By integrating advanced analytics, Power BI dashboards, and AI driven insights, the Analyst/Statistician helps shape academic planning, improve student outcomes, and ensure accountability to internal and external stakeholders.

Job Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree in education, Statistics, Social Sciences, Data Science, or a related field and 3 years related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.




- Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, Python) and database tools (e.g., SQL).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative and independent work.
- High level of attention to detail, clear documentation, and ability to work with sensitive information.
- Experience with data visualization tools, including Power BI.
- Predictive modeling, time series analysis, forecasting.
- Familiarity with AI assisted analytics tools (e.g., natural language query features, automated insights, predictive modeling platforms) and the curation of results.

Preferred

- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in higher education or institutional research, especially in the BC context.
- Knowledge of student information systems (e.g., Banner).
- Experience applying AI tools to data analysis, forecasting, or workflow automation.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and government reporting requirements.
