OBJECTIVES

Supports the objectives of the Woodstock Plant in assisting in the resolution of vehicle related assembly/quality issues and process inefficiencies. Supports the development of robust processes in all departments including equipment upgrades. This is a current vacancy.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Interpret vehicle design specifications and ensure current processes are building to the required specifications
- With focus on the technical aspects of the vehicle, look at internal processes to determine the best assembly / inspection processes
- Continue to develop current assembly, logistics and inspection processes to ensure processes are adequate
- Assist in the launch of new models
- Assist with identifying defects and determine root cause (supplier or assembly process)
- Update programs and various software’s utilized for assembling and inspecting the vehicles
- Review safety critical items, and work with assembly on updating the assembly check sheet (torque check sheet)
- Assist with determination root cause of field issues and suggest resolution
- Assist with the weekly “Black Double Countermeasure Process Review” meeting with various department members
- Perform detailed process audits and time studies of Logistics, Assembly, QC and Mods / repair center
- Analyze process audit results and confirm process efficiency and risk of defect outflows
- Work with all production departments to develop robust processes that do not allow defect outflow
- Develop & maintain CAD drawings for plant layout, part math data and design of jigs and fixtures with 3D printer.
- Assist QC/Assembly circle teams and Kaizen teams when required
- Assist with research for the purchase of process equipment
- Develop costing analysis for process improvements / engineering projects
- Act as a technical resource for all HMC equipment




- Interact with Sales, Production Control and Project Planning to ensure recent model launches and current production meet all customer requirements
- Encourage our continuous improvement program (CR Process) to HMC team members
- Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

- Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree or diploma for a recognized post-secondary education institute is required
- Minimum of two to three years in the automotive quality field in an Engineering position or equivalent, working in a manufacturing setting
- Good project management skills
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Proficient in Catia or equivalent
- Demonstrates experience in analysis and planning with ability to anticipate situations, define problems and objectives, recognize alternatives and formulate solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain business relationships/connections
- Proficient with Microsoft Office program (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Faro Arm experience considered an asset
- Ability to recall, retrieve and communicate detailed or technical information clearly, accurately and concisely to other Team Members

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

- Quality Assurance Certificate and/or Professional Engineer Certificate
- Bilingualism is an asset (English and Japanese), but not required

- Not Applicable

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Regular working hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
- Requires travel to suppliers, other Hino plants

Pay: $90,000.00 per year
