In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional patient service. Must have a current criminal record check (within 12 months). This is an 18 month maternity leave contract position.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Answering phones, responding to patient requests and directing calls to appropriate pharmacy team members..
- Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and pharmacy policies through diligent record-keeping and procedural adherence.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and pharmacy team members to facilitate smooth medication delivery and patient support.
- Cleaning and maintenance of automated prescription filling robots (Automed and Scriptpro)
Experience
- Prior experience as a pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician is required.
- Strong understanding of medication names and their indications is essential.
- Knowledge of Kroll (Telus Health) software is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in quick-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
Pay: $20.00-$27.50 per hour
