Great West Radon is Western Canada’s leading radon testing and mitigation company, helping protect families and businesses by reducing lung cancer risk.
As we continue to grow nationally, we are looking for an exceptional Operations Manager to lead and strengthen the operational backbone of our company.
This role is critical.
You will be stepping into a position that works directly with the President and is responsible for ensuring the business operates at a high level across people, systems, and execution.
Your role is to bring structure, accountability, and leadership to operations so the entire organization can scale effectively across Canada.
About the Role
This is not a maintenance role—this is a build, optimize, and scale role. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Calgary warehouse, as well as the option to work from home on occasion.
You will take ownership of day-to-day operations while continuously improving systems, people, and performance. You will act as the bridge between leadership, field teams, and customers—ensuring execution is tight, standards are upheld, and problems are solved quickly and effectively.
You will also play a key role in building the team—leading interviews and helping identify, attract, and retain high-performing operational staff.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Operations & Execution
- Oversee daily operations including job flow and assisting in team coordination
- Ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all mitigation and service work
- Identify inefficiencies and implement systems to improve scalability and performance
- Lead expansion into new markets with operational structure and readiness
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and hold field staff members accountable
- Conduct interviews and participate in hiring decisions for operational roles
- Navigate difficult conversations with clarity, fairness, and professionalism
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
Customer Experience & Issue Resolution
- Take ownership of escalated customer concerns and resolve them effectively
- Turn challenging situations into positive outcomes and long-term trust
- Ensure communication is proactive, professional, and aligned with company standards
Vendor & Partner Management
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, pricing, and reliability
- Build strong relationships while protecting company margins and expectations
- Continuously evaluate vendor performance and sourcing opportunities
Systems & Scaling
- Assist in developing, refining, and implementing SOPs to support growth across multiple locations
- Help build operational systems that allow the company to scale efficiently across Canada
- Work directly with the President to execute strategic initiatives and improvements
- Work closely with the administration team to ensure a streamlined workflow
What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days
- Gain a full understanding of current operations, team structure, and workflows
- Build strong relationships with field staff, administration, and leadership
- Identify key inefficiencies and begin implementing practical improvements
- Take ownership of team structure, coordination, and daily operational flow
- Establish clear expectations and accountability standards across the team
- Confidently handle escalated customer and team issues with professionalism and resolution

Compensation
- Competitive base salary: $95,000 – $110,000 (based on experience)
- Annual performance-based bonus or variable compensation of 10–20%, tied to clearly defined operational KPIs and company performance
- Opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role as the company expands
Requirements
- 5+ years in operations, management, or a similar leadership role
- Knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction is considered a strong asset
- Comfort working around tools, equipment, warehouse operations, and field-based service teams
- Experience in leadership and relationship building is a strong asset
- Experience scaling operations or managing growth is highly preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy
- Based in Calgary, AB and able to work full-time on-site from the company warehouse
- English (required)
- Valid driver’s license
