Duties
As the Asset Manager, you will lead and manage a diverse team in the development and delivery of an asset management program, on-going operations and services for the maintenance and improvement of Parks Canada assets, and in responding to operational challenges of significant complexity and scope.This position plays an integral role on the Mount Revelstoke & Glacier Field Unit Management team and will be expected to advise on various park assets and collaborate on overall park management.
You will be required to set priorities, plan, lead and supervise the asset management team and program of work.
The successful candidate must have a strong ability to communicate, engage, and manage overall team and individual performance.
Work setting
This position is based out of Revelstoke, BC.
Remote work is not available.
This position will be required to report to work on occasion at Rogers Pass, BC to oversee asset operations and manage the team working from this location.Mount Revelstoke & Glacier National Park features a unique combination of visitor use areas, park operations buildings and highway operations facilities maintained by the assets team.
This can be a fast-paced environment with quick decision-making required to meet health and safety needs, support critical services, and provide quality visitor experiences.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to fill an anticipated vacancy of 6 months starting in October 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
EDUCATION
Graduation from a recognized post secondary institution with a degree or diploma in an engineering or project management discipline or another specialisation relevant to the duties of the position; or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Valid driver's license
EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience in collaborating with and mobilizing people & stakeholders in an asset & infrastructure environment with frequently competing interests;
EX2: Experience overseeing financial and human resources including leading multi-disciplinary teams of tradespersons, technical specialists, consultants, labourers, and/or contractors;
EX3: Experience in planning and implementing asset management programs for a medium-sized organization involving a diverse asset portfolio including contemporary and/or heritage structures (e.g. buildings, roads & bridges, water/wastewater treatment facilities, visitor infrastructure, etc.).

KNOWLEDGE
K1: Knowledge of principles and theories associated with asset management, maintenance and investment analysis in support of long-term capital planning;
K2: Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and best practices;
K3: Knowledge of current construction project, risk management and quality assurance principles, standards, practices and techniques.
ABILITIES
A1: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to technical and non-technical audience;
A2:
Ability to manage and develop teams of professional and technical staff through performance management plans and learning objectives;
A3: Ability to think strategically, assess complex information and situations, develop strategic recommendations/solutions and negotiate and implement future courses of action;
A4: Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment; that is, able to work with other sections or functions to achieve common park goals.

ASSET EXPERIENCE
AEX1: Experience in planning and successfully delivering multi-disciplinary capital projects, including reading and providing advice on engineering designs.
