Job Overview:

The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive IBM MQ administration and production support to application teams.

You will be responsible for designing solutions, managing technical implementations, and ensuring high-quality service delivery through effective incident, problem, and change management.

Core Responsibilities:

Technical Administration & Engineering:

- Architecture & Design: Design and implement IBM MQ solutions based on business requirements, ensuring alignment with MQ architecture standards.

- Lifecycle Management: Execute MQ installations, configurations, migrations, upgrades, and patch/fixpack management.

- High Availability & DR: Manage Replicated Data Queue Manager (RDQM) setups, high availability configurations, and disaster recovery procedures.

- Security: Implement Secured Socket Layer (SSL) certificates to maintain secure messaging environments.

Operational Support & Incident Management:

- Incident Resolution: Manage P1–P4 incidents, perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA), and maintain service level agreement (SLA) performance.

- Problem Management: Proactively identify trends and manage complex technical issues, including the escalation and resolution of Level 3 (L3) support cases.

- Vendor Liaison: Interface with IBM support (via PMR) and other third-party vendors to resolve deep-tier technical challenges.

- Process Excellence: Adhere to ITIL frameworks for incident, problem,



and change management; continuously improve support documentation and training materials.

Collaboration & Communication:

- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless change implementation.

- Project Consulting: Provide technical advisory during pre-project discussions to optimize technology and process strategies.

- Mentorship: Support and provide guidance to L1 and L2 support tiers to facilitate broader team knowledge and faster issue resolution.

Basic Qualifications:

Essential:

- Education: Graduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.

- Technical Expertise:
- Thorough knowledge of MQ Architecture, Server/Client structures, and Point-to-Point setups.

- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.

- Demonstrated experience in MQ installation, migration, and troubleshooting.

- Soft Skills:

- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).

- Ability to work autonomously under minimal supervision.

- Results-oriented mindset with high professional standards and interpersonal efficacy.

Preferred:

- Frameworks: Understanding of ITIL methodologies and integration across IPC management.

- Technical Add-ons: Experience with IBM Sterling Connect: Direct, BMC Control‑M, or Cross File Transfer (CFT).
