Gore Mutual seeks an In-House Counsel for Insurance Defense in Ontario with hybrid/remote options.
This role focuses on litigation excellence, managing casualty and accident benefit files to secure timely resolutions.
As a key legal partner with Gore Mutual, you will oversee an extensive portfolio of over 50 files.
Your responsibilities include full-cycle litigation from initial assignment to trial, representing the company in contested motions, and leading cutting-edge legal processes.
Engage with claims adjusters and internal clients to enhance strategic advocacy in a transforming market.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage 50+ casualty and accident benefit files independently
• Lead litigation from assignment to trial resolution
• Represent Gore in contested motions and arbitrations
• Identify opportunities for legal process innovation
• Collaborate effectively with legal support and clients
Requirements:
• J.D. or LL.B. and Ontario law society membership
• 3-8 years of insurance defense litigation experience
• Proven track record in mediations and trials
• Strong analytical and digital-first legal resource skills
• Ability to communicate complex legal insights clearly
