About JKCE Probuild Contracting Corp.

JKCE Probuild Contracting Corp. is a growing general contractor specializing in residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use construction projects throughout British Columbia. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Ironworker to join our team.

Responsibilities

- Install and erect structural steel, steel framing systems, miscellaneous metals, stairs, handrails, guardrails, and other fabricated steel components.
- Assist with the installation of architectural steel features, ornamental metalwork, and custom steel structures, including public art and specialty steel installations.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and project specifications.
- Unload, inspect, rig, hoist, position, align, and secure structural steel and fabricated metal components using cranes, rigging equipment, aerial lifts, and hand tools.
- Bolt, weld, and fasten steel members in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with the Site Superintendent, crane operators, fabricators, and other trades to complete work safely and efficiently.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while following company policies, WorkSafeBC regulations, and site safety requirements.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of experience in ironworking, structural steel installation, or miscellaneous metals.




- Experience installing structural steel beams, columns, steel framing systems, stairs, handrails, guardrails, and other fabricated steel components.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and project specifications.
- Experience with rigging, hoisting, and the secure handling of structural steel components.
- Proficient in the use of welding equipment, aerial lifts, and common power and hand tools.
- Fall Protection certification is required.
- Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) certification is an asset.
- CWB welding certification is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and reliable transportation are preferred.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working safely at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Schedule

- Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime as required
- Occasional travel to project sites throughout British Columbia may be required

Required

- Fall Protection Certification
- Legal authorization to work in Canada

Preferred (Assets)

- CWB Welding Certification
- Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Certification
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence

Pay: $30.00-$42.00 per hour
