Position Overview

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing in office project execution, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, timelines, budgets, and company standards for safety and quality.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in heavy civil construction, including asphalt paving, road construction, and drainage/service installations.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all on-site activities for heavy civil construction projects with varying scopes.

- Track project progress, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate updates or issues with the Project Manager.

- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure project requirements are met and conflicts are resolved proactively.

- Work closely with Project Managers to achieve project goals and timelines.

- Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers.





- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

- Prepare daily production, quantity, and cost reports for management.

- Support hiring, training, and supervision of site personnel.

- Perform additional coordination and management duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects of varying sizes.

- Proven experience in asphalt paving, grading, traffic control, and pipe installation.

- Strong understanding of construction processes, including OPSS specifications, OTM Book 6 and other relevant standards.

- Experience using GPS and elevation/layout equipment is considered an asset.

- Equipment operation experience is an added advantage.
