Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Butchery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. As a Butchery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our butchers with various tasks related to meat cutting, food preparation, and customer service. This position requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist butchers with sausage making and all value added products.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and hygiene standards.
- Package meat products for display and sale while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butchery area, including equipment and tools.
- Monitor inventory levels of meat products and assist in restocking as needed.
- Follow proper procedures for storing, labeling, and rotating stock to minimize waste.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a butchery or kitchen workplace is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Familiarity with meat cutting techniques is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed.
