Pastry Prep Cook

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Pastry Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and production of desserts, pastries, and baked goods while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety.

Responsibilities

- Prepare ingredients for pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to recipes.
- Measure, mix, and portion doughs, creams, fillings, and batters.
- Assist pastry chefs in daily production and plating.
- Bake and decorate pastries and desserts as needed.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and finished products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform management of shortages.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.

Requirements





- Previous experience in a pastry kitchen or bakery is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lb).
- Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Experience

- Pastry or bakery experience: 1 year preferred.
- Food handling certification is an asset.
