Drafting Designer - Headingley, MB

Our client, a energetic and growing design firm, is seeking a skilled Drafting Designer to join their team. This role involves creating precise construction drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to residential and light commercial building projects across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northwestern Ontario. Ideal for both recent graduates and experienced professionals, this position offers a collaborative work environment where quality, innovation, and customer service are prioritized. This is primarily an in-office role based out of our Headingley, MB location.

Responsibilities

- Create accurate construction drawings, working plans, and shop drawings.
- Develop framing layouts and detailed construction documentation.
- Modify drawings based on client needs, architectural/engineering specifications, and building codes.
- Ensure all drawings meet applicable building codes and company standards.
- Work closely with sales, project management, estimators, and clients throughout the design process.




- Participate in project reviews and troubleshoot design challenges.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.

Qualifications

- Completion of a Drafting Technology Program or equivalent post-secondary education in drafting/design.
- Experience in residential drafting is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred.
- Knowledge of residential construction methods and building codes is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation to Headingley, as this role does not include travel by bus.
