Carpentry Team Member

We are looking for a skilled carpenter that has experience in all or some of the following: composite decking, timber structures and general framing

Your daily focus will be to complete carpentry projects with a positive, qualified attitude and quality workmanship expected at OGS.

Responsibilities:

- Arrive on time each day physically and mentally ready to work
- Be proficient in basic and advanced framing practices. Cutting, measuring, layouts, reading plans
- Responsible for site management when manager isn't present. Coordinate labourers, deliveries etc.
- Basic understanding of how to frame a roof and build stairs.
- You will be focused on Decks, Gazebos, Cabanas, Fencing, Pergolas, Sheds, Concrete Slabs, and other Job Specific elements as they arise.
- Assist in upkeep of tools and equipment
- Maintain all Supplies in the Yard and the Shop
- Ensure a clean and Safe working environment for all activities
- Operate various tools and equipment, including: heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
- Read and interpret blueprints,



specifications to delegate/complete work activities
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis, including: daily site meeting logs, crew daily forms, equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking, time and materials billing summaries, requests for time off, etc.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Help ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards
- Help enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations on jobsites
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

Job Requirements:

- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in “Timber or Deck Carpentry”
- Quality of Construction must be meet OGS Landscape Services standards
- Must be able to follow instructions and communicate effectively within the crew
- Set of basic hand tools, nail pouch, cordless impact driver and drill.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $32.00 per hour
