SANITATION SUPERVISOR

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Reporting to the Sanitation Manager, this position provides supervision and direction of plant Sanitation employees & activities within Company goals, Department objectives, and health and safety requirements to achieve customer quality requirements, production efficiencies and cost effectiveness. The Sanitation Shift Lead Hands report directly to this position. This position is located in a bakery facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Scheduling employees
- Ensuring smooth transition between production and Sanitation.
- Sanitation Reports on daily basis after the shift is done, (list of Rooms/Equipment/parts washed during the shift)
- Room inspection at start and end of the shift.
- Supporting the Sanitation Manager for all aspects of Sanitation in support of our operations
- Oversee and evaluate effectiveness to meet all job requirements and ensure sanitation compliance with all Company and regulatory requirements
- Direct Sanitation Lead Hands regarding staff and related work
- Administration of the Sanitation systems, including but not limited to:

ensure all paperwork/documentation completed related to QA, Safety, Setting and other related areas for Sanitation programs

- Manage Sanitation Work Orders
- Create and manage the Sanitation SOPs for all equipment
- Manage all Master SSOP plans
- Manage chemical, cleaning, and supplies stores inventories
- Ensure all JHSC requests are met
- Maintain Sanitation department MSDS
- Train & develop Sanitation Staff in processes & procedures for safety and sanitation. Washing with high pressure/ chemicals/ turning on/off the machines)
- Maintain safe working environment (LOTO, Fall Protection, etc)



in compliance with MOL requirements for Sanitation throughout the facilities
- Participate in Plant and Sanitation audits (internal & external) as required
- Supervision, coaching and monitoring Sanitation Staff in a non-unionized food manufacturing environment
- Responsibility for all sanitation functions, including setting sanitation standards & SOPs
- Responsibility for pest control programs & waste disposal management programs
- Compliance with GFSI standards, maintaining the highest standards for quality, customer service and recognizing that Food Safety is Number #1 priority
- Other duties as assigned/required

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

- Food Industry experience (bakery, meat, poultry or seafood), familiarity regarding Food Safety and related audit requirements, are all preferred.
- GMP, HACCP, and all relevant health and safety requirements

EDUCATION:

- High school diploma or GED
- Additional education (college, tech school, etc.) is preferred
- Formal training/certification in sanitation Best Practices would be ideal

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

- 3 Years of Sanitation Leadership required.
- Demonstrates a strong knowledge of Health & Safety and good manufacturing practices including Food Safety and audit requirements
- Proficiency with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Ensures open and effective communication
- Strong organizational and communication skills, trouble shooting, process improvement skills and mechanical aptitude
- Excellent written and communication skills in English (additional languages an asset)
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Applications or equivalent
- Action-oriented & self-starter

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
