Overview

The leasing specialist is responsible to offer superior customer service to prospective residents and achieve overall high occupancy rates. Some travel within Canada may be periodically required.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Advertise properties
- Monitor advertising effectiveness
- Obtain demographic information
- Pre-screen prospects
- Set up open houses
- Book appointments via telephone & online
- Show the property and all its amenities
- Maintain commission records
- Conduct market comparisons and mystery shops
- Conduct follow up calls
- Perform credit checks
- Inspect model units and market ready vacant
- Present all features and benefits of the property
- Complete all paperwork involved with the rental application

Requirements

- Two (2) years of direct work experience in a sales capacity
- Access to a vehicle
- Valid Driver’s license
- Persuasive closing skills




- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and e‑mail required
- Skilled, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential
- Superior telephone manners and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information
- Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills
- High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
