Our client, the apparel industry, is seeking a Technical Designer to join their team. As a Technical Designer, you will be part of the Product Development department supporting design and manufacturing teams.

Job Title: Apparel Technical Designer

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Pay Range: $50000 - $55000

Full Time Permanent

What's the Job?

- Review new styles with Designers to understand vision and concept
- Complete accurate technical packages and ensure timely delivery to overseas manufacturers
- Collaborate with graphics department to prepare line sheets and brand artwork for production
- Assess fit, proportion, and styling of garments using live models and body forms
- Provide detailed evaluations for fit samples, including pattern corrections, sketches, photos, and comments to vendors and manufacturers

What's Needed?

- Degree or Diploma in a related Fashion or Textile program from an accredited institution
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, pattern making, sewing, measuring, and fitting
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers and overseas manufacturers
- Basic computer skills; knowledge of Mac, Photoshop, and Excel is an asset
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
