Role: Database Administrator
Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per year

Location: Toronto (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Our client is a leading global organization undergoing ongoing modernization of its enterprise database and cloud infrastructure. They are seeking a Database Administrator with deep Oracle expertise to support mission-critical environments, drive modernization initiatives, and contribute to the long-term evolution of their database platforms.

Your New Role

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, security, and strategic development of enterprise database environments. You will manage highly available Oracle platforms, support cloud-based database services, lead database upgrades and modernization efforts, and collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

- Managing and supporting Oracle Database 19c environments while assisting with future-version upgrades.
- Administering Oracle Exadata, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, ODA, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Supporting SQL Server and PostgreSQL database platforms.
- Designing and implementing high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery solutions.
- Monitoring and optimizing database performance across enterprise environments.
- Implementing and supporting Oracle Golden Gate replication.
- Developing automation solutions using scripting and modern infrastructure tools.
- Planning database capacity, scalability, and technology roadmaps.
- Participating in major incident response and complex troubleshooting activities.




- Mentoring team members and promoting database best practices.

What You'll Need to Succeed

- 5–8 years of Database Administration experience within enterprise environments.
- Robust hands-on experience administering Oracle Database 19c or newer (Oracle 11g experience alone will not meet requirements).
- Extensive Oracle infrastructure experience including:
- Oracle Exadata
- Oracle RAC
- Oracle Data Guard
- Oracle ASM
- Oracle Grid Infrastructure
- Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Strong experience supporting and optimizing Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience implementing and supporting Oracle Golden Gate.
- Advanced SQL and PL/SQL programming expertise.
- Linux/UNIX administration and scripting experience.
- Experience with workload automation tools such as Autosys, Stonebranch, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of database security, compliance, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Proven expertise in performance tuning and database optimization.

Mandatory Certifications

- Oracle Certification (OCP or equivalent).
- Microsoft Certified Database certification (Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar).

Cloud Requirements (Must Have)





- Hands-on AWS cloud experience.
- Experience supporting:
- Amazon RDS (Oracle and PostgreSQL)
- Aurora
- Cloud Watch
- Cloud Formation
- AWS DMS
- Direct Connect
- Lambda
- Experience working in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Python, JSON, and YAML scripting experience.
