The Finance Group is partnering with a growing engineering and environmental consulting organization to recruit a Senior Financial Controller.

As a strategic finance leader, you'll partner with operations to strengthen financial performance, improve project profitability, optimize ERP systems and processes, and provide the insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting
- Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Deliver meaningful financial insights that support executive decision-making

Project Accounting & Business Performance

- Project costing
- Work-in-Progress (WIP)
- Revenue recognition
- Labour recovery
- Utilization reporting
- Project profitability analysis
- Financial performance reporting





Systems & Process Improvement

- Continue optimizing the organization's ERP system
- Improve financial processes, reporting, and internal controls
- Standardize reporting across multiple business units
- Drive efficiencies through automation and continuous improvement

Leadership & Collaboration

- Mentor and support the finance team
- Partner with leaders across the business
- Build strong relationships with operational teams
- Help create alignment around financial reporting and performance metrics

Qualifications:

- CPA designation required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Experience leading financial reporting and month-end close
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience
- Experience in a project-based, consulting, engineering, construction, or professional services workplace is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of project accounting, utilization, WIP, labour recovery, and project profitability
- Experience with ERP implementations or optimization initiatives is considered a strong asset
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience
