Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Workers to provide essential assistance and companionship to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves supporting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will be patient, reliable, and committed to fostering a safe and positive environment for those they serve.

Duties

- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
- Support clients in participating in community activities, outings, and recreational events
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Monitor and document clients’ progress, behaviors, and needs accurately
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s specific requirements
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting any concerns or incidents promptly
- Collaborate with family members, healthcare professionals, and team members to coordinate care effectively
- Encourage and empower clients to develop skills that foster independence





Experience

- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or related conditions is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
- Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism
- A compassionate attitude and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on clients’ lives are essential for success in this role

Qualifications & Certifications

- Protected Management Group (SMG) Certification (required)
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
- Police Check (Broad Sector Check)
- Valid G Driver’s License (required)

Schedule

- Afternoon shifts on weekdays
- Availability for some weekends required
- Full time/Part time/Casual available
