Title: Junior Technical Estimator

Position: Current

Continual Energy Inc. deploys cutting-edge, specialized energy solutions for buildings. We are currently looking for qualified candidates to review documentation and available resources, interpret the specified scope, and develop pricing with the goal of submitting a sales proposal for the outlined work; with the intention of winning the opportunity for execution of the design and implementation of heating, cooling, and ventilation controls and optimization projects for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.

Core Responsibilities:

- Report directly to the Director of Business Development.
- Review HVAC mechanical drawing packages to highlight and identify items pertaining to the implementation and execution of the required scope.
- Read and interpret engineer specification packages to pinpoint project requirements which pertain to the scope.
- Reference documentation and available resources to develop a high-level building energy solution that completes the scope outlined within the related documents or as required for the solution.
- Investigation of existing building systems to support the generation of sales quotes.
- Develop pricing based upon the solution with part selections, sub-contractor quotes, and estimated labour hours.
- Draft sales proposals for quotes, clearly outlining the scope of supply. This may include written descriptions, tables, and related diagrams to clearly convey pricing, options, and explanation of execution plan.
- Meet with clients, trades, and sub-contractors for site-walks, and as required to develop the proposed solution.
- Participate in hand-off meetings with the project execution team to outline sold scope to the internal team who will be executing the work.
- Daily office work in downtown Toronto required from Monday through Friday, with occasional travel to project sites.

Skills Required:





- Proficiency with the following software technologies: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Bluebeam Revu (or other PDF mark-up software)
- Capable of reading and understanding mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls design documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of interacting with clients and team members daily.
- Ability to follow direction, work in a fast-paced team and collaborative environment, multi-task and maintain organization.
- Very comfortable with Windows-based computer systems and computer networks.
- Willingness to develop and maintain existing skills, while learning new skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical and/or HVAC systems.
- Industry experience with Building Automation and Direct Digital Controls (DDC)

Qualifications and Education Required

- Diploma, degree, and/or equivalent relevant experience in related field.

Compensation:

- Salary range $55,000 to $85,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications.
- Three (3) weeks of vacation.
- Ten (10) paid days off (sick days).

Schedule:

- Typical work week is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Occasional overtime or after-hours/weekend work required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
