Title: Jr. Project Manager — Residential Construction

Location: Oxford County, Ontario (Office & Active Job Sites)

Job Type: Full-Time

About Joe's Carpentry

Joe's Carpentry is a Oxford County-based custom home and renovation builder known for precision, transparency, and genuine respect for our clients' homes and dreams. We're growing, and we're looking for someone who wants to build a career in residential construction project management — not just take a job.

The Role

We're looking for a Jr. Project Manager to take ownership of day-to-day coordination on our active job sites — supporting our Pre-Construction Manager and overseeing our construction staff (Site Supervisors, Lead Carpenters, and labourers), while keeping the General Manager informed on the big items. You'll run the daily rhythm of site operations — briefing crews, coordinating trades, tracking schedules, and keeping clients informed — on projects sized to build your skills, with support close at hand as you take on more responsibility over time.

If you're organized, comfortable directing people on a job site, and want to grow into a senior Project Manager role, this is where that path starts.

What You'll Do

● Support the Pre-Construction Manager on project handoff and readiness, then lead daily coordination on assigned projects — briefing Site Supervisors and Lead Carpenters on crew assignments, work sequences, and priorities

● Oversee construction staff (Site Supervisors, Lead Carpenters, and labourers) on your projects day to day

● Keep the manpower schedule and job tracking software (Buildertrend) current and accurate

● Conduct quality control site visits and document findings with photos and field notes

● Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients on your projects, keeping homeowners informed and issues resolved quickly

● Track material deliveries, purchase orders, and change order documentation

● Monitor sub-trade activity on site and resolve scheduling or sequencing issues in real time

● Uphold safety compliance and PPE standards across your job sites

● Report major project items, risks, and progress to the General Manager on a regular cadence

What You Bring

● Some experience in residential construction, site coordination, or a related field leadership role (or a strong desire to build a career here)

● Robust organizational skills and comfort managing several moving pieces on an active job site

● Clear, confident communication — comfortable directing tradespeople and managing client relationships

● Comfort working both in an office setting and out on active job sites

● A valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation

● Proficiency with Microsoft 365;
comfort learning new software (Buildertrend experience a plus)

● A safety-first mindset

Nice to Have

● Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code (OBC), WSIB requirements, or local permit processes

● Exposure to design-build or custom home renovation projects

● Experience with project management or scheduling software

Why Join Joe's Carpentry

This role is built for growth. You'll work closely with our Pre-Construction Manager and lead our construction staff day to day, learning the systems and standards behind how we deliver every project on time, on budget, and to the standard Joe's Carpentry is known for — with a clear path toward a full Project Manager role as you develop.
