Become the Iga’tagu’tieg Project Coordinator, facilitating healing through growing and preserving traditional medicines and foods. Support Sixties Scoop Survivors and foster community connections through Indigenous practices.
You will play a vital role in coordinating the Iga’tagu’tieg project across NCPEI’s Charlottetown and Portage locations. This position requires experience in community-based programming and knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditional foods, and medicines. Collaborate closely with Elders and community partners to facilitate workshops and nurture participants’ engagement and cultural identity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate project activities, timelines, and resources
• Facilitate workshops on gardening and food preservation
• Engage and support project participants effectively
• Collaborate with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and partners
• Monitor progress and maintain participant records
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a relevant field
• Experience with Indigenous communities and programming
• Robust organizational and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Gardening or food preservation skills are an asset
