We are a well-established and growing organization seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our in-house Legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional who enjoys working closely with business leaders and supporting a broad range of corporate and commercial legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing legal documentation, supporting regulatory compliance, coordinating with external counsel, and helping the business effectively manage legal risk.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, agreements, correspondence, and reports.
- Assist with the preparation and administration of commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, service agreements, and other legal documentation.
- Maintain legal records, contract databases, and document management systems.
- Monitor contract renewals, legal deadlines, and regulatory filing requirements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation, employment matters, regulatory issues, and corporate initiatives.
- Support corporate governance activities, including maintaining corporate records and assisting with regulatory filings.
- Assist with compliance initiatives and internal policy development.
- Liaise with government agencies, insurance providers, and external partners as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive legal and business information.
- Provide general legal and administrative support to the Legal department.
Qualifications
- Paralegal diploma from an accredited institution.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate, commercial, or in-house legal workplace.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario legislation, legal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience reviewing and managing commercial contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting an in-house legal department.
- Experience with corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contract administration.
- Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, logistics, construction, or other operational environments is considered an asset.
