Yellowhead Christian School (YCS) is seeking an Jr High Teacher (0.5 FTE in person, 0.5 FTE online) for the 2026/2027 school year with the possibility of extending for future years. This position can be split into two part time positions.

Yellowhead Christian School is growing and seeking to add an enthusiastic Christian Jr High teacher for the school year. We teach the Alberta Program of Studies from a Christian worldview and provide additional Christian programming for students through devotions, Bible class and chapels. Location: Edson, AB (Independent Christian school located about 200 km west of Edmonton and an hour from the Rocky Mountains).

Responsibilities





- Teach English and Social Studies in-person and online as part of the junior high team; be willing and able to teach different courses as needed.
- Design lessons and conduct classes using lessons, discussions, and audio-visual presentations to engage students.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to meet diverse learning needs and assess student progress in alignment with school beliefs.
- Maintain transparent and respectful communication with students, families, and staff.
- Support and participate in the school’s Christian program including devotions, Bible class, and chapels.

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Education degree
- Hold (or be eligible for) a valid Alberta teaching certificate
- Passion for Christian Education
- Bible College education or successful experience in youth work is valuable
- Canadian citizenship or eligibility to work and teach in Canada
