Job Title: Software Developer - Senior
Location: Toronto, ON or Kingston, ON (Onsite - 5 days/week)
Duration: 170 Business Days with possible extension
Client: Public Sector
Pay Rate: CAD $80 -$95 per hour

Responsibilities

- Analyze business requirements and design scalable technical solutions and architecture.
- Develop technical design documents, user guides, and system documentation.
- Design, develop, integrate, and maintain enterprise applications.
- Perform unit and integration testing and develop test cases.
- Collaborate with QA teams on functional, performance, and security testing.
- Conduct solution design and code walkthroughs and provide knowledge transfer to project teams.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of experience in enterprise application development across multi-platform environments.
- Strong expertise in Java/J2EE , REST APIs, SOAP/WSDL, JSON, XML, Web Services, Oracle, PL/SQL, and multi-tier architecture.
- Hands-on experience with application servers (WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat), development tools (Eclipse, IntelliJ, VS Code),



and source control/deployment tools.
- Extensive experience in full-stack application design, coding, system integration, debugging, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Proven experience leading technical teams, conducting design/code reviews, and delivering enterprise-scale IT solutions.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, IT security, quality assurance, and software development best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in public sector environments and knowledge of government architecture standards, security, and privacy guidelines is an asset.

Must Have

- Expertise in large-scale enterprise systems analysis, design, development, and emerging technologies.
- Robust experience with full-stack, multi-tier application development using Java/J2EE, REST, SOAP, JSON/XML, UI frameworks, and third-party integrations .
- Ability to design secure, scalable, and high-performing technical solutions while ensuring IT security and quality standards.
