Business Analyst (Market Treasury)
Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
Responsibilities
- Analyze huge data sets, create flow diagrams, prepare high level summaries and workflows.
- Work in close coordination with development leads on enhancements and defects, assist with troubleshooting and resolution of application defects.
- Engage successfully with software developers and testers to ensure quality delivery on time, planning, estimating, managing risks and issues, project reporting, managing stakeholders and building strong relationships with the business.
- Assist in project execution through JIRA, providing tracking to technical teams and status updates to internal and business stakeholders.
- Shape the strategic architecture for the application by working closely with development leads and defining solutions that are robust and aligned with the technology roadmap.
- Develop best practices for evaluating, selecting and implementing technologies for use within FXLM technology more broadly.
- Monitor current developments in data visualization and analysis technology across ICG and the industry more generally and provide recommendations about new technology adoption.
- Deliver technology solutions at high quality, on time and with minimum risk.
- Present status reports to senior business and technology managers on global and regional committees.
- Review business requirements, suggest alternative solutions or translate into functional requirements, investigate regional nuances to arrive at a comprehensive solution, ensure it is acceptable to all regional business teams, and discuss in detail with technology teams considering specific customizations required in each country/region.
- Partner with senior business and technology leaders and define the next generation Operations Technology platform to be used within Client FXLM business.
Qualifications
- 10 years of relevant experience in the banking industry with treasury focus.
- Subject matter expertise on Market Treasury business with technical and functional expertise in a Markets and Financial environment.
- Knowledge of all financial products including Money Market, Fixed Income, FX and Derivatives.
- Experience reviewing business requirements and proposing alternative solutions, translating into functional requirements, and investigating regional nuances.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to create business analysis from scratch.
- Ability to troubleshoot data quality issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to transform business requirements into precise functional and technical specifications.
- Ability to work as part of various teams under pressure and to prioritize conflicting tasks.
- Experience as a Business Analyst with any investment global bank in foreign exchange, trade processing, or risk management areas.
- Understanding of full front‑to‑back workflow for a minimum of two asset classes (FX, FI, MM, Derivatives).
- Familiarity with SDLC and Agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of FX options, bonds, rates is a plus.
