Applus+ Nray was founded in 1994 in Dundas (Ontario, Canada) and it added a second facility in Raleigh (North Carolina, USA) in 2008. In 2014, it became part of the Applus+ Group. Applus+ Nray is a global leader in neutron radiography and provides inspection services to a large array of international clientele. With more than 25 years of experience working with the aerospace, defence, manufacturing, research & development, and archaeological sectors, it has proven its expertise through a highly unique non-destructive testing (NDT) method, one of the fastest and most efficient to detect ceramic residual core.
Position Purpose:
The primary role is to learn all aspects of inspection services under the guidance of the Facility Supervisor. This includes handling materials or tools, maintaining a clean work area and equipment, and following established inspection methods and procedures to understand product compliance through various NDT methods and techniques
.
Duties and Responsibilitie
- Assist in project execution and daily tasks assigned, as required.
- Assist with organizing and reporting of services provided
- Prepare, set up, and complete all necessary paperwork as required by client and company requirements.
- Set up boundaries and surveillance of the work area, if required, and prevent unauthorized personnel from entering the work area.
- Follow and enforce the company’s required safe work practices and procedures at all times.
- Responsible for replenishing and organizing the required supplies, as needed, to perform assigned methods.
- Responsible for cleanliness of all work areas.
- Observe test procedures and product compliance to learn internal and industry specifications.
- Observe and learn the procedures required to perform work and gain certification in the required NDT methods.
- Observe and learn the proper documentation process required for NDT testing.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally.
- Enforce and abide by the requirements of safe operation and personal safety, using required Personal Protective Equipment and safe practices per company policy.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read technical documents is preferred.
- Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite of products is preferred.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of inspection technology is preferred.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, positive attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of neutron radiography; exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Willing to work with others, collaborating and compromising where necessary; promptly shares relevant information with others.
- Maintains a positive “can-do” outlook, rebounds quickly from frustrations and unpleasantness, and keeps composure and a friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations.
Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- This is an entry level position with minimum or no experience required
- Experience in NDT industry is highly desirable
- Certificates and Licenses Required
- Must achieve Contrast Enhancement Technician certification
- Physical Activities and Requirements
- Lifting up to 50lbs
