Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (Posting # )

Responds to emergency calls at the advanced level. It is the responsibility of this position to gather medical history and relay to doctor or hospital the extent of illness or injury; perform emergency medical care in accordance with established guidelines and written and verbal instructions from physicians, and transport persons to the appropriate medical facilities; and perform related tasks as required.

Requirements

- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by EMT and Advanced EMT courses provided by the North Carolina State Office of EMS.

Refer applicants with a minimum of one year experience and training in emergency medical care. Additional requirements include a drivers’ license valid in the State of N.C., and the possession of (or ability to obtain) State of N. C. certification as an EMT at the Advanced level. This position works a 24-hour shift. Please provide a photocopy of all certifications.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $45,337-$50,699. Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee advantages package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees’ Retirement System.
