Edison, New Jersey, United States of America | New York, New York, United States of America | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of AmericaOverviewWe are seeking a Project Director, Roadway to join our team in Edison, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, or New York, NY.ResponsibilitiesBe a dedicated business builder who will utilize existing relationships to identify and pursue business opportunities as well as recruit top technical staff.Possess a background in winning and serving clients on major projects, a sound technical background, excellent communication and organizational skills, and thorough knowledge and understanding of New Jersey details and standards.Build and maintain relationships with clients, both public and private, as well as representatives of local, state and federal regulatory agencies.Work with leadership to promote design excellence, provide leadership and mentoring while driving the strategic plan for the office.Leverage existing and develop new NJDOT and NJTA relationships to identify and pursue business opportunities.Lead pursuits and write proposals for NJDOT and NJTA.Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, arrange for their review and execution by senior management, and conduct QC/QA reviews of less complicated professional services agreements.Direct project team compliance with contract terms, monitor subcontractors' progress and performance, participate in dispute resolution and litigation concerning project performance and liabilities, and review/approve subconsultant and vendor invoices.Develop, communicate, and manage project quality assurance, administrative procedures, communication guidelines,



deliverable formats, specifications, and progress reporting requirements.Monitor schedules, billings, and reports; ensure appropriate charging of manhours, costs, and expenses; assist in obtaining payment from clients; resolve client disputesand adjust billing records as required; communicate project progress/status to senior management and alert them of problems.Identify new business opportunities, coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and external groups, and market the firm's capabilities.Participate in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and preparation of qualification/experience statements.Coordinate communications between internal and external associates and clients, and between the firm and regulatory agencies. Maintain frequent contact with clients and regulatory agency personnel and serve as an expert witness if necessary.Supervise other project managers, technical professionals, and design staff,



including managing weekly project workload and manpower forecasting.Conduct project management training workshops and mentor associate project managers and project managers.Monitor and report the financial status of projects to technical managers.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and assist in supporting other offices within the region to fulfill current project needs while planning the future of our New Jersey business.QualificationsNew Jersey P.E. license at minimum; preferred candidate would hold other state PE licenses across the Northeast.Extensive experience leading transportation design projects for the Recent Jersey Department of Transportation and New Jersey Turnpike Authority.15 years of engineering experience in project production and technical qualified activities, including four years as a project manager.Significant highway/roadway design experience with a range of project types.Strong project financial management and team management skills.Excellent communication, interpersonal, public speaking, and persuasive abilities.Compensation and BenefitsExpected compensation range is between $180,000 - $220,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.At AtkinsRéalis, we offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive culture.
