About the Role

By joining Kardium, you can help advance a breakthrough medical device used for diagnosing and treating atrial fibrillation. We have obtained FDA approval and are in the commercial launch phase of the Globe Pulsed Field System.

Your opportunity is to join our manufacturing automation team to design, develop, and deploy control systems for automated manufacturing equipment, focusing on machine vision.

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate custom and off‑the‑shelf vision and control system technologies and hardware for specific vision applications, and inform stakeholders of vision capabilities.
- Design, select, integrate, and maintain vision and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment, including GUI and application logic development.
- Capture, document, and communicate system requirements with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary design reviews related to vision and control systems.
- Commission systems, transfer them to production, and provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- 4+ years of experience working with vision‑based quality inspection systems in manufacturing, including evaluating and integrating vision hardware and deploying it to the factory floor.




- Experience developing and implementing PLC or PC‑based control systems used in manufacturing.
- Track record of collaborating with cross‑functional teams and external partners on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, domestic and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience writing high‑level software and firmware in languages such as Java, C#, C, and Python.
- Hands‑on experience integrating industrial robots with machine vision systems for inspection, guidance, or automation applications.
- Electrical experience designing custom PCBs and control panels.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards such as ISO 13849 and CSA SPE‑1000.
- Medical/regulated industry manufacturing experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $90,000 – $110,000 CAD annually (plus 5% contribution to a Retirement Savings Plan and participation in the company stock option plan).
