Join Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak in Thompson, MB, as a full time Indigenous Cultural Activity Worker. Lead traditional healing initiatives and cultural teachings for Indigenous communities.
This position supports the Traditional Healer Program by ensuring cultural protocols are maintained and that Indigenous ways of knowing are respected. You will collaborate closely with the community, assist in spiritual wellness initiatives, and provide guidance on cultural traditions and ceremonies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and coordinate cultural events and healing sessions
• Develop plans alongside the THP Manager for activities
• Maintain ceremonial item inventories and resources
• Collaborate with the MKO programs for spiritual wellness
• Liaise with Elders for proper protocol at events
Requirements:
• Lived knowledge of Indigenous traditions and cultural practices
• Foundational administrative skills and adaptability
• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalency
• Experience in traditional mentorship and ceremonies
• Ability to lift heavy objects and travel for duties
Use your expertise in Indigenous culture to enrich the community and uphold traditions.
