Position Title: Primary Care Paramedic (Full‑time permanent)
Location: Rexton, NB
Hours of Work: Rotating days and nights, weekends and statutory holidays. Subject to change due to operational requirements.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: As per collective agreement
Language Requirement: Written and spoken competency in one of the two official languages, English or French, and basic competency in the other.

Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical expectations and responsibilities for Primary Care Paramedics are based on the current National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP), Paramedic Association of New Brunswick registration requirements, and Ambulance NB policies, procedures, and protocols.
Paramedics provide medical support to patients on scene and en route to hospitals. They are skilled in emergency techniques and deliver various medical treatments, remaining on scene until the job is complete.
New graduates or candidates with external experience will undergo a standardized selection process that includes a comprehensive assessment to determine qualification.
Required Qualifications
- Entitled to work in Canada (citizenship, permanent residence or work permit)
- Ability to work efficiently as a member of a team and to work all assigned shifts while maintaining good attendance
- High regard for confidentiality and patient safety
- Completion of a Primary Care Paramedic program/course of more than six months
- Registered and active member of the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Valid New Brunswick Class 4 driver’s licence (or equivalent)
Additional Requirements for Application
- Current resume and cover letter
- A copy of the PCP diploma from an accredited institution
- Proof of current registration with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) within the last 12 months
- Proof of valid CPR level C certification issued within the last 12 months
- Photocopy of the front and back of a valid Class 4 driver’s licence (or equivalent) with at least one year of driving experience
- Driver’s abstract issued within the last 30 days
- Copy of any valid driver’s course certificate (e.g., CEVO, VFIS, NS VSP) issued within the last three years
- Criminal record with vulnerable sector check issued within the last 30 days
- Immunization record for Tetanus Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B and a TB skin test within the last 12 months
- Valid official‑language assessments in both French and English (oral assessment only) from the Department of Post‑secondary Education, Training and Labour
- Additional training and/or education is highly valued
