Grow your career in civil engineering while supporting these important projects.What We're Looking ForHNTB is seeking a senior traffic project engineer to work in the Orange County or Ontario office. The ideal candidate has 8–15 years of experience in traffic engineering and operations modeling and will support our Southern California traffic staff with traffic operational analysis, traffic design tasks, and traffic‐task‐lead responsibilities. Responsibilities include modeling, data analysis, design, estimating, specifications, and report writing for freeway corridors, arterials, and transit projects from planning through construction.What You'll DoUse senior‐level technical expertise to consider a broad range of engineering solutions.Plan, distribute work, and lead discipline‐specific activities while ensuring schedule and budget compliance on complex projects.Assist with marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.Develop scope of work, estimate effort,



and manage adherence to scope and budget within the discipline.Oversee completeness and accuracy of the project team's work.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives.Coordinate technical aspects of the project with client counterparts and teaming partners at staff level.Lead discipline delivery on larger, multidisciplinary projects and collaborate with other disciplines.Assist in coordinating schedules, hours, and work distribution for other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll NeedBachelor's degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience.Master's degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience.PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience.What You'll BringExcellent technical knowledge and quality work on multi‐discipline projects.Prioritizes tasks and demonstrates accountability to deliver projects on time, within budget and scope.Shows vision beyond the task at hand, anticipating risks and effects of actions.Understands and supports objectives essential for successful project delivery, recognizing the influence of multiple disciplines.Applies accrued knowledge to innovate project efficiencies.Uses refined technical skills to identify problems, develop solutions, and make effective decisions knowing which tools to use.What We Prefer10 years of relevant experience.Professional Engineer (PE) designation.Additional InformationBenefits information: HNTB Total Rewards.
