Job Description
Position: Warehouse Person/Shipper Receiver - Full time
Primary Location: North Vancouver, British Columbia
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Shift: Monday - Friday - 40-hour work week - 7am to 3:30pm
Compensation: $54.81/hr + benefits
The CAD hourly rate for this position is $54.81+benefits. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please note that the compensation details listed in the Canadian roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.
About This Position And About You
This position provides support to the North Vancouver Plant by coordinating the receiving and issuing of stock, purchasing materials, organizing shipments of materials, processing shipping and receiving documentation, distributing shipments throughout the company and maintaining inventory and inventory records. As needed and under supervision of a Maintenance Supervisor, this position will help shop personnel in completing various tasks. This is a excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys supporting operations and maintenance through inventory management and customer service.
In This Role, You Will
- Use SAP as the computerized inventory system to manage inventory of all products in stores (goods receipts, requisitions, etc.)
- Receive and tag the product for jobs and stock inventory
- Load and unload trucks, package items,
and deliver and pick up goods as needed
- Completing and filing appropriate paperwork such as BOLs, waybills, customs documents, packing slips
- Oversee, maintain, and replenish inventory
- Ensure that cycle counts are conducted accurately and consistently, as needed
- Use appropriate equipment (including mobile equipment life forklift) and tools to move products/parts when needed
- Ensure that equipment and workspace is functional, including performing daily inspections of material handling equipment, identifying and rectifying hazards
- Observe and adhere to all Chemtrade and site policies especially safety policies; identify and report unsafe work practices or conditions
- Kit parts for workorders as needed
- Utilize new technologies as they emerge for conducting work (scanner, tablet, etc.)
- Coordinate with personnel on jobs that need to be completed and materials that will be needed to finish the job
- Research different vendors to get best price
- Help Maintenance shop personnel with their jobs as needed (as a Maintenance Helper)
A Successful Candidate Has
Knowledge
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds and be capable of moving, sitting, bending, squatting, standing, etc.
- Capable of using SAP for material receipt and management of inventory
- Functional in working English
- Organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- A B.C.T.Q. certificate as a Parts Technician is an asset
- Experience with SAP as a materials management software is an asset
- Inventory management experience is an asset
Competencies
- 5 years on-the-job training in warehouse management
- Fluent in MS Office
- Experience with SAP
- Knowledge of piping, valves, gaskets, and other materials of construction and terminology
Job Environment
You work both independently and as a collaborative team member, utilizing effective problem-solving and time management skills. You have experience in a warehouse parts environment, have experience and knowledge in computerized inventory systems, and experience in transportation of dangerous goods and forklift operation. The role is responsible for ensuring that product is moved in and out of the warehouse appropriately, safely, and in a timely manner.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical)
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (but must be capable of lifting 40)
- Must be physically capable of spending long hours sitting in an office environment or drive mobile equipment
- Must be fit for duty
