Job Description The Investment Risk Analyst (“the Analyst”) is responsible for supporting and enhancing FCIM multi-asset investment risk and portfolio oversight functions. The Analyst will conduct ongoing monitoring and analysis to help ensure that investment strategies are aligned with their objectives and client expectations. The Analyst will work with the Head of Investment Risk and Portfolio Oversight, the Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Managers and Quantitative team members to drive efficiencies and a robust risk oversight infrastructure. The analyst will be expected to cultivate strong relationships with FIL colleagues and help to drive continuous improvement in quantitative risk capabilities. What You Will Do With the CIO, conduct quarterly formal investment review meetings (“QFR”) with assigned portfolio managers to ensure that funds are managed in alignment with their documented investment risk parameters and in a manner consistent with client expectations. Collaborate with the Head of Investment Risk and portfolio managers to develop and enhance analytics and tools to assess and improve feedback mechanisms, risk management, and portfolio construction effectiveness across the product line. Ensure that FCIM maintains and implements the most relevant and up-to-date risk models and investment risk surveillance capabilities. Identify risk / challenge PMs on portfolio risks that may be approaching the limits of mandate guidelines or client expectations or that may be unintended in nature. Develop / enhance investment risk documentation and reporting to FIC Committees with Investment Oversight responsibilities, e.G. FIC Audit Committee. Lead development and implementation of fixed income and multi-asset investment risk oversight framework.
What We Are Looking For Minimum of 7 years of experience in the investment industry with a strong preference for experience in roles closely associated with investment management, risk management and/or investment compliance or equivalent work experience. University educated with a strong preference for candidates with an educational foundation in mathematics, statistics, economics, or finance. Robust written and oral communication skills. Python programming competence / expertise preferred. Accreditations and / or certificates in industry programs associated with investment risk management preferred.
